Dr Matt Phillips

Head of Clinical Education

Biography

Matt has been a consultant in Genitourinary Medicine (GUM) in Cumbria since 2016 after moving up from Greater Manchester. A keen educationalist, Matt also holds a role supporting Foundation doctors at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS FT. His professional interests lie in HIV and the law, and he was the President of the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) from 2024-2026 where he helped with the creation of the new governmental HIV Action Plan to get to no new transmissions by 2030.

He’s delighted to be part of the team at PCSM and supporting clinical education that enables students to become confident, competent doctors in this beautiful part of the world.
