Josh Wood

After studying psychology at the University of Manchester, Josh followed a career in clinical research with various NHS Trusts in the north-east of England as well as with Newcastle University as a research assistant and clinical trials manager. He has a particular interest in Lewy body dementia and has various papers published in this field.

More recently Josh has run his own cycle training and consultancy business based in Dumfries but covering the south-west of Scotland and has a passion for the benefits of physical activity in health care.
The opportunity to join the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine in January 2025 was a wonderful chance for Josh to utilise the skills developed in his career to date in a coherent manner in a field he is passionate about.
