Dr Jon Macklin

Biography
Jon graduated from Dundee in 1998 and spent several years in hospital medicine before training in Psychiatry from 2004. He has been a consultant since 2011. Jon holds an MRCP and MRCPsych and is on the specialist register for general psychiatry and liaison psychiatry.
He has a strong interest in education and has been an honorary senior lecturer at Glasgow University since 2014 and has lectured there for many years. Jon has occasionally had articles published in peer review journals and the national press. He has supervised several trainees in small research projects often presented as posters at national and international meetings.
He is on the faculty for training on the Scottish Mental Health Act and delivers initial and update training. He has taught on and supported the PsychSTEP programme helping international medical graduates.
He has held various educational roles including Postgraduate Tutor and Foundation Programme Director.
