Since 2015, I have been working as a consultant cardiologist with a special interest in pacing at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.
Having qualified as a doctor in Poland, I obtained a Ph.D. at the Jagiellonian University, Kraków. I have significant international experience in pacing and electrophysiology and was previously appointed as a consultant cardiologist/electrophysiologist at the Department of Electro Cardiology, John Paul II Hospital in Krakow, Poland, and at Rhön-Klinikum AG, Cardiovascular Centre Bad Neustadt ad Saale, Germany.
I am a Fellow of the European Heart Rhythm Association and work as a reviewer for international cardiology journals including PACE and EUROPACE.
I am also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
Education has always been my passion. I especially enjoy teaching ECG and delivered multiple undergraduate and postgraduate ECG courses. I am currently involved in undergraduate education being an Undergraduate Programme Director at NCIC NHS Foundation Trust for University of Central Lancashire programmes and supervisor of international clinical electives at Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle- for Newcastle University.
I also have a research interest and published in international peer-reviewed cardiology journals. My main research areas are invasive electrophysiology, cardiac pacing, atrial remodelling in patients with supraventricular arrhythmias, rehabilitation in ICD patients and thrombosis.
Outside of work I enjoy traveling, learning languages and playing chess. I am a member of Carlisle Chess Club and English Chess Federation.
