Faith Ikioda

Senior Teaching Fellow in Prevention and Public Health

Biography

Dr Faith Ikioda a Senior Teaching Fellow in Prevention and Public Health and comes from a Social Science background in Human Geography that has shaped her teaching and research interest in the areas of preventative health, public health and tackling systemic health inequalities.
Faith graduated from the University of Lagos, Nigeria with a first degree in Geography and went on to study for an MA in Human Geography from the University of Manchester and then obtained a PhD in Human Geography at the University of Sheffield. Faith’s academic background in the social sciences affords her the opportunity to take a view on health inequality from an interdisciplinary perspective that considers how the wider determinants of health should be considered when developing effective preventative strategies alongside concerns in clinical practice in integrated healthcare systems.
Her research interests and publications till date focus on the areas of digital health practices, community health and wellbeing, participatory action research, health workforce development and global public health. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
