Dr Amit Paik

Dr Amit Paik is a portfolio General Practitioner, GP Trainer, and medical educator with experience across primary care, pre-hospital emergency medicine, and clinical leadership. He is currently a GP Partner at Carlisle Healthcare, a large multi-site practice serving over 40,000 patients, where he leads on prescribing strategy, medicines management, and quality improvement.

As lead for the PCSM Education Hub, Amit’s focus is towards faculty support and development both internal and external to our medical school, through developing a regional community of educators and striving to advance medical education across Cumbria. Complimenting this role is his clinical leadership of the NHS England Training Hub for North Cumbria, looking at strategic development of wider primary care workforce development and training.

Additionally, he is an active volunteer responder to pre-hospital emergency care charities across the North West, including BEEP Doctors and most recently the North West Pre-Hospital Critical Care Charity. He supports attendance, treatment and management of critically unwell patients alongside the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS). He is also part of NWAS’s Medical Emergency Response Incident Team, providing tactical and operational medical advice during major and complex incidents. When away from work or not on-call, Amit enjoys pursuing the outdoors with his better half, enjoying travelling to new countries or spending much loved time with family/friends.
