Shannon May Blaylock

After studying and working in Childcare since she left Secondary School, Shannon started at the University of Cumbria in November 2018, temporarily in the Admissions team for four months.

Shannon’s time in Admissions led to her passion for understanding the whole Student journey, and she joined the Marketing team shortly after. A couple of months into her time in Marketing, a role in the Student Recruitment team came about, and Shannon became the Student Recruitment Assistant, working across all University of Cumbria campuses and the UK for external events for just over four years. In August 2023, Shannon was promoted to Student Recruitment Officer and is responsible for organising all on-campus Student Recruitment events at our Fusehill Street Campus.

In February 2024, the opportunity arose to work with the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine, and she jumped at the chance to share her knowledge of organising events and be a part of a brand-new partnership.
