Craig Betton

Craig is a Curriculum Development Fellow at PCSM.  He is dual trained as a registered adult nurse with the NMC and as a paramedic with the HCPC.

As a nurse he has worked in a variety of clinical settings including as an anaesthetic and recovery nurse in theatres, intensive and critical care, occupational health and as a medical center nurse at Center Parcs.

As a paramedic his clinical roles have included working as a front line emergency paramedic and instructor, education and training manager for Cumbria Ambulance Service NHS Trust and as an emergency care practitioner for the North West Ambulance Service and out of hours GP service.

His teaching experience spans both paramedic and nursing professions in both pre and post registration programs as a lecturer and senior lecturer in courses based at the University of Cumbria and with the Scottish Ambulance Service based at Glasgow Caledonian University.

His interests include emergency and unscheduled care, clinical skills and procedures, clinical examination, simulation teaching strategies and anatomy and physiology.

Craig has a first class Hons degree in professional practice focused on emergency and unscheduled care and an MSc in practice development.  He has a UAD in occupational health, is a qualified anaesthetic nurse and has both a Cert Ed and PGc in academic practice and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
