Chris Harris joined the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine as the Head of Operations in January 2024.

Since joining Imperial College London in 2007, Chris has held a series of education management and leadership roles.  He has previously been Education Manager for the former Department of Medicine, before becoming Quality Assurance and Enhancement Manager and subsequently Head of Programme Management for Imperial College School of Medicine (ICSM).  Most recently, he has been Head of Education and Student Experience Strategy for the Faculty of Engineering, where he led Faculty education operations and supported ten academic departments and ten-thousand students.

Prior to working for PCSM, Chris has worked on numerous strategic medical education initiatives, including the delivery of Imperial College School of Medicine (ICSM) five-year strategy and development of the identity and governance of the School.  He took a lead role in the ICSM curriculum review, from concept to delivery, working with teams across the School, leading two academic reorganisations and supporting the creation of new teaching facilities. He has a background in medical education quality and governance and significant operational experience across the whole student lifecycle, which he has brought to bear in numerous College-wide committees, boards, and working groups.

Throughout his career, Chris has worked closely with academic and clinical staff and student union leaders and representatives, a collaborative approach which contributed to substantial National Student Survey improvements in both Medicine and Medical Biosciences.
