Biography
Karen Brownrigg joined the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine in May 2025 as Assessment Officer. Her career in Higher Education began at the launch of the University of Cumbria, where she worked within the Business School at the Carlisle Campus.
Karen later moved into the private sector, gaining extensive experience in events & hospitality within the horse racing industry then in marketing within the automotive industry. Alongside her professional roles, she pursued further qualifications, graduating from both the Digital Marketing Institute and the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
After spending two decades in corporate settings, Karen has returned to Higher Education through her role at PCSM. Motivated by a deeply personal connection to healthcare through her own experience of supporting a family member with a chronic illness—she is passionate about PCSM’s mission.
